The Sad Reality About Shipping From Canada:

We are located on the East Coast of Canada in Nova Scotia. As much as I would like to have your items delivered to you in 2-3 days, it just doesn’t happen that quickly. Most of our items are shipped via Canada Post, which is the only cost effective option we have. Even UPS’s rates for shipping within Canada, or from Nova Scotia to the US make many items cost prohibitive.

With that being said, Canada Post’s rates are not nearly as cheap as USPS rates in the US. Many people who have not investigated the actual cost of shipping items from, or in Canada, may think that our shipping prices are over inflated, when in fact, most times, the quoted shipping does not even cover the actual shipping cost. Also, there is the often forgotten costs involved in shipping, such as packing material, labels, gas for the daily trips to the Post Office (a 20 mile round trip in our case) etc etc. ALL of our shipping prices also include shipping insurance. So, no, we don’t make money on shipping.

Shipping times vary greatly. A big reason for this with International Shipments is Customs. Shipments may slide through Customs with no delay, or they may sit at Customs for a week or more. We have no control over this, and if your shipment is going to any Country other than Canada, it has to go through Customs in your Country. You have to be aware of the possibility of delays.

Some examples of shipping times: Times shown are business days, they do not include weekends or holidays. (If time is 12 days, that means it’s going to be 2 ½ weeks). If Customs in your Country takes an extra 3 days to process the shipment, it will be 3 extra days before delivered.

The shipping times I have shown are, from past experience, the average times that our shipments really take, NOT the published shipping times from Canada Post.

Shipping to major centers in the US: (Outside major centers may be slightly longer)

Via Xpresspost – 5 to 8 business days

Via Expedited Parcel – 10 to 15 business days.

Via Small Packet Air – 5 to 10 business days. (Under 1 Kg only)

Shipping to major centers in Australia or Brazil: (Outside major centers may be slightly longer)

Via Xpresspost – 9 to 10 business days.

Via Small Packet Air – 6 to 12 business days (Under 2 Kg only)

Shipping to major centers in the UK: (Outside major centers may be slightly longer)

Via Xpresspost – 6 to 8 business days.

Via Small Packet Air – 5 to 12 business days (Under 2 Kg only)

So, if an item is shipped via Small Packet Air from us in Nova Scotia (Atlantic Coast) to an area outside a major center in California (Pacific Coast), regular shipping time would take up to 10 business days, outside a major center could add 2 days, and customs could take 3 days to clear. Adds up to 3 weeks. Most shipments do not take this long, but if it does, I like people to understand why.

All International shipments are shipped with proper customs declarations including correct value, NO EXCEPTIONS.
